MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS WIDENER IN FIVE & FALLS TO #6 STEVENS

Chester, PA:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team split a pair of matches this afternoon in a tri-match at Widener University. #6 ranked Stevens Institute of Technology defeated Ramapo 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-15) while the Roadrunners won a five-set thriller over the host Pride, 3-2 (20-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 15-10).

Match #1: Stevens 3, Ramapo 0
Cade Allen led Stevens with 11 kills while he added one block and three digs. Bennett Heydorn posted eight kills while Phillip Bone recorded seven. Nick Schmidt led the team with seven digs while also adding a team high 23 assists and five kills. The team hit .351 overall with 36 kills on 74 attempts with 10 errors.

For the Roadrunners, Jan Tracz hit .379 with 14 kills on 29 attempts with just three errors. He added seven digs and one block. Caleb Ford posted five kills as he hit .556 in the match. Sean McNally led the team on defense with eight digs while Joseph Duca dished out 23 assists while contributing with one kill, two blocks and one dig. Xavier Fabre recorded four assisted blocks for the team while Justin Hidalgo added two blocks, five kills and three digs. The team posted 32 kills in the match on 91 kills and 21 errors.

Match #2: Ramapo 3, Widener 2
The Roadrunners (9-10 overall) came back to defeat the Pride in five sets. Tracz led the team with 18 kills and Amari Menter posted 12 while they both collected three assisted blocks. McNally once again led the team on defense with ten digs while he added four assists. Duca added a team high 37 assists and collected nine digs, two blocks, five aces and two kills. Caleb Ford posted a team high seven blocks (one solo) along with three kills and one dig. The team posted 49 kills on 136 attempts with 30 errors.

For the Pride, they were led by Matthew Randall who put down ten kills while posting six assisted blocks and two digs. Quinby Dahl collected nine kills while Stephen Marquis posted eight kills, two solo blocks, two assisted blocks and two digs. Kevin Tinio led the team with 11 digs while Jason Dunn dished out 22 assists for the team. The Pride posted 46 kills on 114 attempts with 23 errors.

The Roadrunners return to action on March 21st when they travel to Drew University for a tri-match against the host Rangers (7pm) and Marymount University at 5pm.
