Jersey City, NJ: The New Jersey City University men's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College tonight, 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-20). The Gothic Knights remain undefeated at 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the league.
NJCU hit .328 in the match with 33 kills on 64 attempts with 12 errors in the three-set match. Marcus Pardasie led the Gothic Knights with eight kills as he hit .467 on 15 attempts with one error. He also posted one solo block, two assisted blocks and four digs. Victor De Souza added seven kills as he hit .700 on ten attempts and no errors. He also posted four assisted blocks. Alex Casais and Nas Paige each collected six digs to lead the team on defense while Casais led the team with 27 assists.
Xavier Fabre led the Roadrunners as he hit .600 in the match with six kills on 10 attempts with no errors. He also posted two solo blocks and one assisted block.
Sebastian Rodriguez added five kills and a team high four digs.
Joseph Duca dished out a team high 18 assists while he added two kills and two digs. The team recorded 28 kills on 79 attempts with 22 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, Jan. 31st when they travel to Drew University for a tri-match with the host Rangers (11am) and Eastern University at 1pm.
