Madison, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team opened the season with a 0-0 draw on the road against host FDU-Florham.
The Roadrunners and Devils each had chances to find the back of the in the game but came up with the 0-0 score at the end of 90 minutes of action. Ramapo's first shot on goal came from Marisa Crist, which struck the crossbar in the 28th minute.
Gabby Matias posted four saves in the first half to keep the Devils off the board.
In the second half, Ramapo picked up the offensive attack with 10 shots including nine on goal. FDU goalie, Ava Gianni, recorded eight saves, all in the second half. The Devils got a team save in the 52nd minute of the game as
Amanda Barr's shot to the bottom left of the goal was stopped by the Devil defense.
Ramapo recorded 13 shots in the game including nine on goal while they posted five corner kicks. For the Devils, they tallied 15 shots including eight on goal along with two corner kicks. For the Roadrunners, Matias recorded eight total saves in the game.
The Roadrunners (0-0-1 overall) return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd as they host their home opener against St. Joseph's University Long Island (0-0-1 overall). The game will kick-off at 7:00 PM at the Athletic Center Turf Field.
