Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team recorded their second shutout of the season with a 1-0 blanking over Manhattanville University this afternoon at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 2-0-1 overall while the Valiants move to 0-3 overall.
Ramapo tallied nine shots in the first half but none bigger than
Alysa Wasicki's shot into the back of the net to put the Roadrunners on the board. The Roadrunners scored in the 23rd minute of action as
Amber Maher tallied the assist with a great cross from the right side of the 18-yard box to Wasicki. The Ramapo defense held Manhattanville to no shots in the second half to keep the Valiants from scoring. The Roadrunners recorded 12 shots including four on goal in the game including six corner kicks.
Gabby Matias posted her second shutout of the season in goal with one save this afternoon. For Manhattanville, Gabby Girard posted three saves.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 10th at home against Penn State University Abington at 6:00 PM.
