Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team came from behind to defeat Penn State University Abington, 2-1. The Roadrunners push their win streak to three games and improve to 3-0-1 overall while the Lady Lions now stand at 1-2-1 overall.
Nayeska Ravelo put PSU on the board with a goal in the 27th minute of action, a lead that they held through the first half. In the 43rd minute of the game in the second half, the Roadrunners were awarded a free kick 35 yards away from goal.
Marisa Christ would collect her second goal of the season to tie the game at one. In the 87th minute,
Amber Maher tallied her first goal of the season off a long pass from
Keily Sanchez to put the Roadrunners up 2-1 with just three minutes remaining.
The Roadrunners held a 9-7 advantage in shots on goal in the game along with a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Gabby Matias posted six saves in goal for the Roadrunners while Sam Ridler recorded seven for the Lady Lions.
Ramapo returns to action when they travel to Drew University for a non-conference game scheduled for 7:00 PM.
