Newark, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team defeated NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark University in the final regular season game of the year. The Roadrunners improve to 4-12-1 overall and 1-8 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raiders move to 5-10-3 overall and 1-7-1 in the league.
Ramapo got on the board in the 21st minute of the first half with a goal by
Amanda Barr, her sixth goal of the season. Late in the second half, Dana Nunez posted a goal for Rutgers-Newark to tie the game in the 82nd (82:32) minute. The Roadrunners were awarded a free kick in the 88th minute (87:46) as
Morgan Korinchak found the back of the net with her third goal of the season, 2-1.
The Roadrunners tallied four shots on goal and four corner kicks while the Scarlet Raiders posted 13 shots on goal and five corner kicks. Angela Amaya posted two saves for Rutgers-Newark while
Gabby Matias tallied 12 saves in goal for the Roadrunners which tied her career high.
