Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team outlasted Purchase College in three sets with a 3-0 (25-17, 30-28, 25-15) Skyline Conference victory. The Roadrunners extend their win streak to four matches and improve to 14-8 overall and 10-3 in the conference. The Panthers now stand at 13-14 overall and 6-6 in the Skyline.
Down 13-11 in the third set,
Reece Kirchofer went on to post the next six kills for the Roadrunners as they took a 15-14 lead before
JoJo Meyer added an ace to go up 16-14. Mekkahi Brown and Kirchofer each added a kill to push the score, 18-14. Following a kill and a service error by Purchase, Kirchofer added back-to-back aces for a 21-15 lead. A kill from
Caleb Ford and back-to-back attack errors from the Panthers gave Ramapo the serve for match point.
Brady Cascone put down the final kill for the Roadrunners for the 25-15 win.
Ramapo hit .250 in the match with 39 kills on 100 attempts with just 14 errors. Kirchofer collected 16 kills while adding four aces, eight digs and one solo block. Cascone added 14 kills, one solo block and five digs.
JoJo Meyer posts 31 assists in the game with one ace and ten digs.
Sean McNally led the team on defense with 12 digs while he added two assists. Ford posted three kills, two assists, two aces and two digs while he added one block.
The Panthers were led by Channing Williams with 11 kills while he added two blocks and three assists. Ayden Mercado posted 17 assists while Victor Ruiz added ten. On defense, Tyler Ryan posted 12 digs to lead the team.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday night with a 7:00pm Skyline Match against Sarah Lawrence College.
