Clermont, FL: The Ramapo College softball team won their final two games at THE Spring Games this afternoon to improve to 10-1 overall. The Roadrunners defeated #6 ranked UW-Oshkosh, 2-1, before earning a shutout over St. Lawrence, 5-0.
Game One
Ramapo scored two runs in the bottom of the first while UW-Oshkosh got on the board in the top of the third. Ramapo had chances to extend their lead in the game while they kept the Titans off the board for the remainder of the game.

Katie Rygiel drew a leadoff work before
Avery Kontura ripped a single through the left side of the infield. Following a 6-4-3 double play by the Titans, Yasbellah Otero laced an RBI single to right-center as Rygiel scored, 1-0. Otero advanced to second on a walk before the Titan defense recorded an error in the field which allowed Otero to score, 2-0. In the top of the third the Titans scored one run with two outs on a Ramapo error to cut the lead in half.
Ramapo starting pitcher
Kassy Stefanski (4-0) and the Roadrunner defense held UWO to just four hits the remainder of the game. Stefanski struck out four, walked just one and scattered a total of eight hits over seven innings. Kontura and Otero each led Ramapo at the plate finishing 2-3.
Game Two
Ramapo scored one run in the second and fourth innings before breaking open the game with three runs in the sixth inning for a 5-0 lead. In the second, Correa-Vanness walked and with two outs stole second before coming around to score on an infield error by the Saints, 1-0. In the fourth, it was Correa-Vanness who started the rally with a lead off bunt single before stealing second base.
Hannah Hensler drove her in with a RBI single through the left side of the infield, 2-0. The bases were loaded with Roadrunners in the bottom of the fifth inning with two outs before Rygiel drove a hard hit single up the middle to plate two runs. The throw home got away from the Saints defense which allowed
Lia Milsom to score, 5-0.
Ramapo starting pitcher
Marissa DiPaolo (4-1) did not allow a run and gave up just two hits in the final two innings of the game to earn her fourth win of the season. DiPaolo struck out four, did not walk a batter and shattered just five hits in the complete game shutout win. Six different Roadrunners recorded one hit in the game while Rygiel drove in two RBI.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, March 26th when they host John Jay College in non-conference action at the Athletic Center at 3:00pm.
