Box Score Leesburg, FL: The Ramapo College softball team earned a 4-3 walk-off win over Eastern Connecticut State University at THE Spring Games. The Roadrunners move to 3-0 overall while the Warriors open the season at 0-1 overall. The second game of the day against McDaniel College was canceled due to weather conditions.

Rebecca Airel drove in the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh to take the game, 4-3. The Warriors took an early lead in the top of the first as they scored two unearned runs. Ramapo came back with one in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead in half. Clay'le Correa-Vanness beat out a bunt single before
Lia Milsom moved her up one base with a sac bunt. Correa-Vanness stole third before
Katie Rygiel drove her in with an RBI single.

Kassy Stefanski got out of a two-out jam in the top of the fifth. Following a double from the Warriors and a stolen base, Stefanski induced a strikeout swinging to end the inning. Ramapo would tie the game in the bottom half of the fifth with two runs. Rygiel led off with a double before Avery Kontora singled to the shortstop to put two runners on with no outs. With two outs and runners at second and third,
Alex Hastings drew a walk to load the bases. Pinch-hitter
Emily Ehrmann stepped to the plate and laced a single through the right side of the infield allowing Rygiel and Kontura to score, 3-3. The Roadrunners retired the Warriors 1-2-3 in the top of the seventh including Stefanski's 10th strikeout of the game setting up a walk-off win. Rygiel reached on an error and Kontura singled before a fielder's choice was overthrown at third base which allowed Rygiel to race home. The Warrior defense was able to make the play at the plate, tagging Rygiel out for the first out of the inning. Kontura moved to third and Gargiulo moved to second on the play. With one out, Airel took a 3-2 count and poked a hard hit ground ball to the left side of the infield as Kontra raced home for the game-winning run, 4-3.

Stefanski (2-0) struck out 10 and did not walk a batter in the complete game victory. She scattered five hits and let up three runs, one earned. Kontura finished 3-4 with two runs scored while Rygiel finished 2-4 with one run and one RBI.

Ramapo returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they take on Coe College at 2pm and Plattsburgh State at 4:15pm.Â
