Mahwah, NJ: The Montclair State University women's basketball team defeated Ramapo College tonight, 79-48. The Red Hawks win their 10th straight game and improve to 18-3 overall and 12-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-19 overall and 1-13 in the league.
The Red Hawks nearly shot 50% from the field in the game while they connected on 11 three-pointers. Four players scored in double figures for the team as they were led by Alyssa Craigwell and Shannon Hughes who each scored 14 points. Olivia Vero added 13 points and finished 5-5 from the free throw line while Alexis Strollo posted ten points of her own. The Red Hawks shot 49% (27-55) from the floor, 52% (11-21) and 73% (14-19) from the free throw line in the game.
For the Roadrunners,
Alison Ahern and
Emma Cartwright each tallied 13 points in the game.
Damiya Graham added 12 points as she finished 6-7 from the field.
Jocelyn Huancaya contributed with a team high nine rebounds while adding six points, three assists and two steals. Ramapo shot 39% (22-56) from the field and 40% (4-10) from the free throw line.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 8th when they host Rowan University in a NJAC game at 3pm.
