RAMAPO DOWNED BY STOCKTON, 55-40

Galloway, NJ:  The Stockton University women's basketball team defeated Ramapo College in NJAC action, 55-40. The Ospreys move to 15-9 overall and 12-5 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners drop to 8-16 overall and 3-14 in the league.

Stockton used a big first half and held the Roadrunners to under ten points in the first and second quarters while the Ospreys held off a Ramapo comeback in the final two quarters of action. Stockton went up 22-13 at halftime before the Ospreys only outscored Ramapo by one in the third quarter, 18-17. Ramapo would cut the lead to eight twice in the third and to just seven in the fourth but the Ospreys would answer with runs of their own enroute to the NJAC victory.
Two Ospreys scored in double figures while they were led by Zemirah Enalls with 16 points and a game-high 17 rebounds for a double-double. Enalls added four steals, one block and one assist. Imene Fathi posted 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals along with one block while Grace Speer tallied seven points, four rebounds and a team high six steals. Stockton poured in 28 points off of 32 Ramapo turnovers while they added 30 points in the pain. The team shot 25% (19-76) from the field, 15% (4-26) from the three-point line and 76% (13-17) from the free throw line.

Vanessa Kohler led the Roadrunners with ten points while she added eight rebounds. Jocelyn Huancaya added eight points including two made three-pointers along with five rebounds and one assist. Jayda Sharp and Emma Cartwright each tallied seven points in the game while Cartwright posted a team high three blocks along with five rebounds. The team shot 37% (15-40) from the field, 42% (3-7) from the three-point line and 63% (7-11) from the free throw line.

Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 18th when they host William Paterson University at the Bradley Center at 5:30pm.
