WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TAKES DOWN YORK (NY) TO OPEN THE SEASON

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's basketball team opened the 2025-2026 season with a 75-15 home win over York College (NY) today at the Bradley Center and Chuck McBreen Court.

The Roadrunners saw three players score in double figures as they were led by Lauren Flatt who tallied 14 points including four three-pointers during the game. Ramapo won the opening tip-off and Flatt would drain her first three-pointer to start the scoring for the team. The Roadrunners never looked back, building an 11-0 lead before the Cardinals got on the board. They held York to four points in the first, seven in the second, zero points in the third and four points in the fourth. Flatt finished the game with five rebounds, five assists and four steals. Vanessa Kohler tallied 11 points, three assists, four rebounds and three steals while Jelly Quadrino posted 10 points, three assists and two rebounds. Denay Jones and Ariana Madrid each contributed with eight points as Madrid sank two three-pointers in the game. Jayda Sharp led the way with seven rebounds while Flatt, Jones and Jorie Boyle each collected four steals to lead the team. The Roadrunners tallied 32 points in the pain and 43 points off York turnovers as the Ramapo defense forced 34 Cardinal turnovers.

York was led by Arta Gjeloshi who posted nine points while Beautifull Earth pulled down a team high seven rebounds. The team finished 6-42 from the field and 2-8 from the free throw line. The Cardinals posted six points in the paint.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 12th when they travel to Stevens Institute of Technology for a non-conference game at 4:00pm.
