WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WINS THIRD STRAIGHT GAME

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team won their third straight game with a win over Medgar Evers College this afternoon at the Bradley Center, 62-32. The Roadrunners improve to 4-1 overall while the Cougars drop to 0-5 on the year.

The Roadrunners held Medgar Evers to under ten points in the first three quarters of action as Ramapo started the game on a 5-0 run to open the scoring. The Roadrunner defense forced 25 Cougar turnovers which led to 18 points for Ramapo. The team also scored 24 points in the paint 15 fast break points and 23 points coming off the bench in the game. Eleven of 13 players that entered the game for Ramapo scored while they were led by Lauren Flatt who tallied 17 points including two three-pointers. Flatt also recorded six rebounds, four steals and one assist. Jocelyn Huancaya posted nine points, two steals and four rebounds and Denay Jones dished out a team high four assists with eight points, five rebounds and one block. Jelly Quadrino pulled down six rebounds while adding six points, two assists and one steal. The team shot 38% (22-57) from the field, 41% (5-12) from the three-point line and 765 (13-17) from the free throw line.

Medgar Evers was led by Moutiatou Djibring who posted 12 points, seven rebounds and one block. Jennifer Metra posted eight points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal. The team shot 26% (11-42) from the field, 28% (2-7) from the three-point line and 42% (8-19) from the free throw line.

Ramapo will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 25th when they host New Jersey City University in the NJAC action at the Bradley Center. The game is set for 5:30 PM.
