Mahwah, NJ: The FDU-Florham women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-18) win over Ramapo College tonight in non-conference action at the Bradley Center. The Devils move to 10-9 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 14-5 overall.
The Devils recorded 39 total kills on 123 attempts with 19 errors as they were led by Genevieve Fitch who posted ten kills. Fitch was also tied with the most digs on the team with teammate Arianna Wood as they each collected 12 in the match. Amaya Ocasio hit .538 in the match with seven kills on 13 attempts and no errors while she added one solo block, 27 assists and 11 digs. Tayla O'Connor also put down seven kills along with three assists, two aces and ten digs. Hannah Weinman recorded a team high five aces as all five came in the second set as rattled off five in a row to close out the 25-21 set two victory.
Valentina Palen led the Roadrunners with 14 kills while she added three digs and one assisted block.
Asya Akar tallied eight kills, two aces, and a team high 11 digs and
Katie Bishop dished out a team high 24 assists in the match while adding 10 digs.
Wendy Palaguachi also recorded ten digs while
Emilia Ristevska led the way with three assisted blocks. The team recorded 32 kills on 123 attempts with 19 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action on Friday, October 17th when they travel to Lehman College for a non-conference match at 5:00 PM.
