Montclair, NJ: The Montclair State University women's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College, 3-0 (25-19-, 25-14, 25-16) tonight in NJAC action. The Red Hawks capture their 20th victory and move to 20-4 overall and 4-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 15-6 overall and 3-2 in the league.
Bryn Bautista led the way for the Red Hawks with 12 kills while adding three aces and six digs. Camryn Muuss hit .318 in the match with 10 kills while adding 11 digs for a double-double in the match. Breanna Craig posted four total blocks including one solo while putting down five kills for MSU. On defense, Lucy Cornelius and Kasey Trzaska each collected eight digs while they both posted two aces. Cornelius recorded 25 assists to lead the team. The team posted 37 total kills on 94 attempts with 10 errors to hit .287 in the match.
Asya Akar and
Valentina Palen each posted nine kills in the match for the Roadrunners while Akar added two aces and four digs and Palen collected five digs and one assist.
Katie Bishop dished out a team high 24 assists while adding two kills, four digs and one ace. On defense,
Wendy Palaguachi led the way with 11 digs while
Emma Garcia posted six of her own in the match. Ramapo tallied 30 total kills on 98 attempts with 16 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host Kean University on Thursday, Oct. 23rd in NJAC action at 7:00 PM.
