Mahwah, NJ: The Kean University women's volleyball team came back to defeat Ramapo College, 3-1 (21-25, 25-15, 25-15, 25-21) in NJAC action. The Cougars win their 20th game of the season and move to 20-5 overall and 5-1 in the NJAC. The Roadrunners now stand at 15-7 overall and 3-3 in the league.
The Cougars hit .256 as a team with 53 kills on 133 attempts with 19 errors. Ashley Torok led the team with 18 kills while she added nine digs and three aces. Victoria Latino posted 10 kills, three blocks and one dig while Cayley Elena Morrison recorded six total blocks including three solo blocks along with nine kills and two digs. Aspin O'Brien put down six kills with a team high 41 assists while adding nine digs. On defense, the team was led by Madeline Dohogne who collected 18 digs while Annabelle Valencia posted 16 of her own in the match.
The Roadrunners were led by
Asya Akar and
Valentina Palen who each put down 13 kills in the match. Akar posted two aces, six digs and one block while Palen hit .355 in the match with six digs.
Jasmine Rolle hit .421 with nine kills on 19 attempts with just one error while she added two solo blocks and one assisted block.
Katie Bishop dished out 35 assists and added seven digs, two blocks and one kill.
Emma Garcia posted a match-high of 17 digs and posted four assists while
Wendy Palaguachi collected 14 digs to help lead the team on defense. Ramapo tallied 43 total kills in the match on 137 attempts with 17 errors.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, October 28th when they travel to NJAC rival William Paterson University for a 7:00 PM match.
