Mahwah, NJ: The Rowan University women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 28-26) win over the Ramapo College in NJAC action tonight at the Bradley Center. The Profs improve to 12-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference while the Roadrunners move to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC.
After Rowan captured the first two sets, 25-19 and 25-15, the Roadrunners responded in a back-and-forth third set. Ramapo used a four-point run to turn a 7-4 deficit into an 8-7 lead before the two teams traded points throughout the set. The Roadrunners held a 24-22 advantage late before Rowan fought off a Ramapo set point and eventually closed out the match with a 28-26 victory.
Cass Chauhan led the Roadrunners with 14 kills while hitting .481 in the match. She also added nine digs and two service aces.
Jasmine Rolle posted six kills and hit .455 while
Asya Akar and
Sydney Tramontana each contributed with five kills. Akar also recorded a team-high four service aces.
Aubrey Agcaoili dished out a team-high 25 assists while Chauhan and
Emma Fowler each collected nine digs.
For Rowan, three Profs posted double digit kills in the match. Jessica Smart led the team with 14 kills while Hutton Cordrey posted 13 and Abigail Chadwick added ten. Raven Albrecht recorded 34 assists while Chadwick led the defense with 11 digs.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, Oct. 3rd at a tri-match hosted by York College (PA). Ramapo will take on DeSales University at 1:00pm before facing host York College at 3:00pm.
