MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO #6 VASSAR AND #19 NICHOLS ON THE ROAD

Poughkeepsie, NY: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the road to host and #6th ranked Vassar College (6-0) and #19 ranked Nichols College (3-4 overall). The Roadrunners move to 0-3 on the season.
 
Nichols – 3, Ramapo – 0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-20)
Reece Kirchofer led the Roadrunners in the first match of the afternoon with nine kills while he added four digs. Brady Cascone posted five kills and three digs while Jan Tracz collected five kills and two blocks. JoJo Meyer recorded 26 assists, two kills, five digs and one block. Sean McNally helped the team on defense with five digs. The Roadrunners hit .224 as a team with 28 kills on 76 attempts and 11 errors.
 
Tanner Soracco led Nichols with 14 kills as he hit .500 in the match. Dylan Knapp posted seven kills and two digs while Chandler Olson dished out 30 assists and posted six digs. The team hit .429 in the match with 37 kills on 70 attempts and just seven errors.
 
Vassar – 3, Ramapo – 0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-18)
The Brewers remain undefeated with their three-set victory over Ramapo. Vassar were led by Eli Lee who tallied eight kills while Shawn Zheng added seven and James Zuckerman posted six. Payne Lounsbery led the way with five aces and 15 assists while on defense Casey McMenamin posted six digs. The team hit .434 in the match with 44 kills on 76 attempts with 11 errors.
 
For the Roadrunners, Kirchofer tallied seven kills while Caleb Ford and Brady Cascone each collected three. Ford posted two blocks in the match while Meyer dishes out a team high 16 assists. Kirchofer also led the team with five digs. Ramapo collected 17 kills on 58 attempts with 11 errors.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday night at the Bradley Center for their first home match of the season. They will take on Drew University in a non-conference match at 7:00 PM.
