Newark, NJ: The Rutgers-Newark University men's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College tonight in NJAC action, 3-0 (25-19, 29-27, 25-19). The Scarlet Raiders move to 4-1 overall, 1-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners open the 2025 season at 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The Scarlet Raiders finished with double digit kills in each set while they hit .287 as a team. Aleks Kolodziej led the way with 17 kills while he added two blocks and five digs. Massimo Roco posted eight kills and a team high three blocks while Aidan Apito collected seven kills and two assists. Derek Au led the way with 33 assists while adding a team high three aces. Fernando Paredes contributed with 12 digs while Sean Spring added six.
Ramapo was led by
Reece Kirchofer who put down 13 kills while adding one ace and seven digs and a team high four blocks.
Brady Cascone added five kills, an ace and two assists while
Jan Tracz posted four kills and three blocks.
JoJo Meyer posted 19 assists for the team while
Caleb Ford contributed with two aces. On defense,
Sean McNally led the team with eight digs while Ryan Westritch added five.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Vassar College for a non-conference tri-match. Ramapo will take on Nichols College at 3pm and host Brewers at 5pm.
