Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team split their final Skyline tri-match of the regular season today on the road. The Roadrunners defeated Purchase College, 3-1 (25-8, 23-25, 28-26, 25-13) while they fell to host New Jersey City University, 0-3 (14-25, 22-25, 12-25).
Ramapo (17-10 overall, 14-4 Skyline) and the rest of the field will learn their seeding later tonight when the Skyline Men's Volleyball Bracket is officially released by the conference. The first round will begin Tuesday, April 9th at 7pm at the higher seed.
Match 1:
Reece Kirchofer led the way with 17 kills and 14 digs while he added four aces and one block.
Amari Menter posted nine kills, two blocks and nine digs while
Josh Barrett added eight kills.
Anubis Roman posted five blocks while
JoJo Meyer collected 35 assists and 12 digs. The team recorded 57 kills on 156 attempts with 22 errors to hit .224 in the match.
For the Panthers, the team tallied 33 kills on 132 attempts and 22 errors. Channing Williams recorded nine kills, four blocks and a team high 16 digs. Aidan Araza posted 18 assists while Tyler Ryan and Udel Phillips each posted eight kills.
Match 2:
Ramapo recorded 26 kills as a team to NJCU's 33. Kirchofer added 11 kills and 11 digs in the match while Meyer dished out 22 assists. Menter posted nine kills while
Brendan Edwards recorded a team high three blocks. On defense,
Jon Zawada tallied eight digs and Meyer five.
For NJCU, James Bajor and Brandon DaSilva collected 11 and ten kills respectively. DaSilva posted a team high nine total blocks while Erik Narvaez added 17 assists. Marcus Pardasie led the way on defense with 11 digs.
