Jersey City, NJ: The #2 New Jersey City University men's volleyball team advanced to the Skyline Conference Championship Match with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) win over #3 Ramapo College tonight in the Skyline Conference Semifinal. The Gothic Knights improve to 21-9 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 18-11 on the year.
Ramapo, who played in their third straight Skyline Tournament semifinal match, recorded 31 kills in the match as a team.
Nick Lisi tallied ten kills while
Reece Kirchofer and
Amari Menter each recorded eight kills in the match. Kirchofer also posted two aces, seven digs and one block. Menter posted one block and three digs while
Anubis Roman and Bredan Edwards each recorded two aces and three assisted blocks.
JoJo Meyer led the team on defense with ten digs while adding a team high 29 assists.
Jon Zawada tallied nine digs on defense for Ramapo in the match.
James Bajor and Marcus Pardasie each posted ten kills each in the match while Bajor added two aces and nine digs. Pardasie recorded eight digs and Brandon DaSilva led the way with four blocks. Da Silva collected seven kills, three aces and three digs. Nico Figueroa posted at team high 13 digs while Alex Casais dished out 28 assists.
The Roadrunners will wait to see if they receive a bid to the ECAC Tournament which is announced Monday afternoon.
