Mahwah, NJ: The Rutgers-Newark University men's volleyball team earned a NJAC win over Ramapo College tonight at the Bradley Center, 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-10). The Scarlet Raiders improve to 6-4 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Lucas Blanco led the way for Rutgers-Newark with seven kills while adding a team high six aces. Aleks Kolodziej posted five kills and Amir Johnson added four. Johnson posted three blocks while Derek Au dished out a team high 16 assists. Evan Jazmin posted a team high seven digs on defense while Aidan Apito and Au each posted four. The team hit .293 with 28 kills on 58 attempts and 11 errors.
For the Roadrunners,
Reece Kirchofer led the way with five kills while
Amari Menter and
Nick Lisi each collected three in the match. Kirchofer posted three blocks while
JoJo Meyer dished out ten assists. On defense,
Jon Zawada collected five digs while Kirchofer posted four and Lisi added three. Ramapo posted 11 total kills in the match with 63 attempts and 21 errors.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, February 24th when they travel to Russell Sage College (4:00 PM) for a non-conference tri-match with Nichols College (2:00 PM).
