Mahwah, NJ: The College of New Jersey women's basketball team defeated Ramapo College, 80-32. The Lions improve to 7-2 overall and remain undefeated in the NJAC at 5-0. The Roadrunners move to 1-10 overall and 0-5 in the league.
The Lions held Ramapo to 10 points or less in each quarter of the game this afternoon while TCNJ had five players score in double figures including four starters. Katie Fricker led the way with 14 points while adding seven rebounds. Nina Branchizio posted 12 points, all three-pointers while she added four assists and one steal. Cassidy Brown finished 3-3 from the three-point line, 4-4 from the floor and 1-2 from the free throw line to capture her 12 points. Arianna McCleod collected 11 points and six rebounds while Grace Kowalski added ten points, three assists and three rebounds. TCNJ sank 17 three-pointers in the game as they shot 47% (17-36). The Lions finished 40% (27-66) from the floor and 75% (9-12) from the free throw line. The Lions defense forced 19 turnovers by Ramapo which led to 26 points for TCNJ.
Jocelyn Huancaya scored six points for Ramapo while posting seven rebounds and one steal.
Angelene Mattingly added five points, three rebounds and two assists while
Lauren Flatt led the way with 11 rebounds while she included four points. The team shot 24% (13-53) from the floor, 25% (2-8) from the three-point line and 66% (4-6) from the free throw line.
Ramapo returns to action when they host Sevens Institute of Technology on January, 4th in a non-conference game scheduled for 1pm.
