Northampton, MA: The Arcadia University women's basketball team earned a 71-40 win over Ramapo College today at the Tyler Tip-Off. The Knights open the season with a victory while the Roadrunners move to 0-2 on the season.
The Knights held the Roadrunners to 13 points in the first two quarters while they built themselves a 41-13 lead at halftime. Ramapo outscored Arcadia in the third quarter 10-9 while they posted 17 points in the fourth to the Knight's 21.
Ramapo was led by Allison Ahern who collected a double double of 14 points and ten rebounds. For her efforts on the court during the tournament Ahern was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Brianna Smith came off the bench for the Roadrunners and scored seven points while she pulled down seven rebounds.
Emma Cartwright contributed with five points while
Jocelyn Huancaya tallied five rebounds. The team shot 30% (14-46) from the field and 61% (11-18) from the free throw line.
The Knights were led by Taylor Koenig who posted 17 points including five three-pointers and eight rebounds. Delaney Bell added ten points while Scarlett Glasser-Nehls added eight points, three steals and four assists. The team shot 38% (27-70) from the field, 29% (14-47) from the three-point line and 60% (3-5) from the free throw line.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, November 13th when they travel to Manhattanville University for a non-conference game at 6PM.
