Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Baruch College women's basketball team defeated Ramapo College tonight in non-conference action, 65-44. The Bearcats earn their first win of the season and move to 1-2 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 0-5 on the year.
Mia Castillo recorded a season high 40 points including four made three-pointers while she finished 16-29 from the field and 4-8 from the three-point line. Castillo added five assists, eight rebounds and four steals. Elissa Leung added 13 points including three three-pointers while adding five steals and four assists. The Bearcats shot 39% (24-61) from the field, 36% (7-19) from the three-point line and 50% (10-20) from the free throw line. Baruch forced 33 Roadrunners turnovers which led to 40 points for the Bearcats.
Alison Ahern posted a team high ten points for the Roadrunners while adding six rebounds, one block and one steal while
Lauren Flatt recorded seven points as she connected one two three-pointers. Flatt added a team high eight rebounds while posting three assists and one steal.
Leilani Pena and
Emma Cartwright each posted six points while Pena added five rebounds and Cartwright posted four rebounds and two steals. The Roadrunners shot 31% (15-47) from the field, 23% (3-13) from the three-point line and 64% (11-17) from the free throw line.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, Nov. 23rd when they travel to Medgar Evers College for a non-conference game at 12:30 PM.
