Union, NJ: The Kean University women's soccer team defeated Ramapo College tonight in NJAC action, 2-0. The Cougars improve to 6-5 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners move to 2-7-1 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead with 12:44 in the first half with a goal from Mariaelena Torres, her third of the season. In the second half, Courtney Irwin collected her fourth goal of the season in the 68th minute (67:55) to add an insurance goal, 2-0.
Kean held a 12-3 advantage in shots on goal along with nine corner kicks in the game. Ramapo collected five corner kicks in the game.
Gabby Matias posted six saves in goal for the Roadrunners in 72:57 minutes of the game while
Madison Miskovitz tallied four saves in the final 17:03.
Ramapo returns to action on October 12th when they host NJAC rival TCNJ at 1:00 PM.
