Glassboro, NJ: The #11-ranked Rowan University women's soccer team used a strong first half to remain undefeated in the NJAC, 7-0. The Profs improve to 13-1-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 5-9-2 overall and 1-7-0 in the conference.
Olivia Giordano scored back-to-back goals in the first half to put the Profs up 2-0 early in the game. Sara Wiedeman scored in the 37th minute while the Profs earned a penalty kick in the 39th minute. Lianna SanFelice converted for her first goal of the season which pushed the score, 4-0. In the second half, Giordano scored her third goal of the game to earn the hat trick while Alexis Dzierzgowski scored the final goal of the game in the 85th minute, 6-0.
The Profs posted 25 shots including 13 on goal while they recorded all 12 corner kicks in the game. Leah Edinger and Catie Paolini split time in the net for Rowan and did not face a shot on goal.
Gabby Matias tallied seven saves for the Roadrunners in goal.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 29th when they host Rutgers-Newark University in NJAC action at 7:00 PM. The team will also honor their senior class in a pre-game ceremony.
