Mahwah, NJ: The College of New Jersey women's soccer team earned their 10th victory of the season in a 4-0 road win over Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center. The Lions, who are ranked #10 in the most recent national poll, improve to 10-0-2 overall and 4-0 in the NJAC. The Roadrunners drop to 2-8-1 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Ramapo goalie Gaby Matias and the Roadrunner defense held the Lions scoreless until late in the first half when TCNJ got on the board with 41 seconds remaining in the half. Cassidy DiSabato took a pass from Ava Curtis at the back post and hit the back off the net for a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Ella Van Dine put TCNJ up 2-0 with a goal in the 53rd minute as Bella Norman earned the assist. Matias would save a penalty kick in the 55th minute before the Lions were awarded a second PK in the 64th minute. Curtis would covert to extend the Lion lead to three. Rachel Robichaud scored her first goal of the season as Maggie Murphy recorded the assist in the 71st minute, 4-0.
Matias posted a new career high in saves in a game with 12 this afternoon. Matias saw action in the first 75:04 of the game.
Madison Miskovitz finished out the game in goal for Ramapo with 14:56 minutes of action. For TCNJ, Ellen Williams recorded one save in the game.
The Roadrunners return to action on October 16th when they travel to New Jersey City University for a NJAC game at 3pm.
