Jersey City, NJ: The New Jersey City University women's soccer team defeated Ramapo College 1-0 today in NJAC action. The Gothic Knights move to 5-2-6 overall and 1-2-2 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-9-1 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Kim Brites put NJCU on the board in the first half in the 21st minute. Her goal came at 20:16 on the clock, Brites eighth goal of the season as Samantha Szymanski earned the assist. Both teams recorded six shots on goal of the game while the Roadrunners held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Gabby Matias posted five saves in goal for Ramapo while Sophia Mannino also recorded five for NJCU in the win.
Ramapo returns to action tomorrow afternoon when they host SUNY Cobleskill in non-conference action at the Athletic Center Turf Field at 4pm.
