Mahwah, NJ: The #4 ranked Montclair State University men's soccer team earned a 4-1 win over Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center. The Red Hawk remain undefeated at 9-0-1 overall and 3-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners move to 2-5-2 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The Red Hawks got on the board early after a scramble in the box led Reed Karsen to tally his third goal of the season to put the team up 1- in just the second minute (1:03). The score held until the second half as Montclair scored three more goals. Juan Uribe took a pass from Amer Lukovic, his first goal of the season for a 2-0 lead (49:10) before Lukovic put his first goal of the game and 17
th of the year into the back of the net as Osbin Mendez tallied the assist.
In the 76
th minute of the game, Ramapo was fouled and awarded a penalty kick.
Luigi Portillo converted for his first goal of his Roadrunner career to get the team on the board. Lukovic collected his team leading 18
th goal of the year in the 78
th minute, unassisted to put the Red Hawks ahead, 4-1.
Montclair held a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal in the game while they recorded five corner kicks. Red Hawk keeper Shane Keenan tallied four saves in the game. For the Roadrunners, the team posted four corner kicks and
Zachary Natt recorded six saves in goal.
