Keene, NH: The Babson College men's soccer team scored three late second-half goals to earn a 3-2 win over Ramapo College at the Keene State Kickoff Classic. The Beavers, who received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 preseason poll, remain undefeated at 3-0 overall, while the Roadrunners (2-1) suffered their first loss of the season.
Ramapo got on the board early in the first half when
Dino Radoncic scored off an assist from
David Lopes in the ninth minute (8:32). The 1-0 score held until the second half when
David Oh converted a penalty kick in the 55th minute to extend the Roadrunners' lead, 2-0.
Babson began its comeback in the 75th minute when Will Lloyd found the back of the net to cut the Ramapo lead in half, 2-1. The Beavers tied the game at 79:19 when Connor Hanrahan scored before Christian Gardner put Babson in front, 3-2, just 30 seconds later. Ramapo could not find the equalizer over the final ten minutes of action, while Babson goalkeeper JB Montague recorded one of his two saves down the stretch to help secure the win. The Beavers held a 12-5 advantage in shots on goal and earned four corner kicks. For the Roadrunners,
Zachary Natt recorded nine saves while Ramapo earned two corner kicks in the game.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 9, when they travel to non-conference rival WestConn for a 7 pm matchup.
