Mahwah, NJ: The King's College men's soccer team earned a 1-0 win over Ramapo College tonight in non-conference action. The Monarchs improve to 4-4-1 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-6-2 overall.
Chris Vollrath collected his third goal of the season late in the first half off an assist from Saul Lagunas. The goal came in the 44th minute (43:26) to put King's on the board, 1-0.
The Roadrunners recorded 15 shots in the second half and 24 for the game including eight on goal but could not find the equalizer. The Monarchs recorded nine shots in the game and six on goal. Ramapo also held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks in the game.
Aidan Scarpelli recorded three saves in the first half for Ramapo in goal while
Gabriel Espada tallied two saves in the second half. For King's, Jake Forst recorded eight saves in goal in the shutout victory.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 7th when they travel to New Jersey City University for a 12pm NJAC game. The game is being played at Cavan Point Turf Field.
