Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team earned three points in NJAC play with a 3-2 win over rival New Jersey City University. The Roadrunners move to 3-6-2 overall and 1-3 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights now stand at 5-5 overall and 0-4 in the NJAC.
The Gothic Knights saw themselves up 1-0 in the 18th minute of action off an own-goal before Ramapo's
Ederson La Torre scored to tie the game at one. La Torre's shot came from 40-yards out for his first goal of the season. The half ended in a 1-1 tie.
In the second half, Juan Vizcaino scored his second goal of the season in the 60th minute to take a one goal lead, 2-1.
Mark Buckel evened the score once again as he collected his first goal of the year for the Roadrunners in the 73rd minute, 2-2. The Gothic Knights looked to take a 3-2 lead in the 74th minute but the goal was called back; keeping the score knotted at two. With just 14 seconds remaining in the game
Nebi Ademi scored the game-winning goal as Ramapo secured the road win and three points in the conference standings.
Zachary Natt recorded five saves in goal for the Roadrunners in the victory while they tallied 16 shots in the game and 11 on goal. Ramapo also earned four corner kicks.
For NJCU, they recorded five corner kicks while Nick Linebaugh tallied eight saves in goal for the Gothic Knights.
Ramapo returns to action on Monday evening when they host the City College of New York at the Athletic Center Turf Field at 7:00pm.
