Camden, NJ: The Rutgers-Camden men's soccer team posted a 1-0 NJAC victory tonight over Ramapo College at Rutgers-Camden Community Park. The Scarlet Raptors improve to 7-2-1 overall and remain undefeated in the conference at 2-0. The Roadrunners move to 2-4-1 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC.
In a tightly contested game where each team had chances to put away a goal, it was Rutgers-Camden who struck first late in the second half. Following seven shots by Ramapo and six shots by the Scarlet Raptors in the first half, the two teams went in to halftime tied 0-0. It was Matt Conger who recorded the eventual game-winner in the 76th (75:03) minute of action, unassisted to put Rutgers-Camden on top, 1-0. The Scarlet Raptors held off the Ramapo offense in the final 15 minutes of the game to hold onto the shutout victory.
Rutgers-Camden recorded 14 shots in the game and nine on goal while the Roadrunners posted 12 shots and five on goal. Each team earned six corner kicks in the game.
Zachary Natt recorded eight saves in goal for the Roadrunners while Sean Boen tallied five saves in goal for Rutgers-Camden.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, September 30th when they host #4 ranked Montclair State University in a NJAC game at 1:00 PM.
