Immaculata, PA: The Ramapo College field hockey team earned their first win of the 2023 season, a shutout over host Immaculata University tonight 2-0. The Roadrunners moved to 1-2 overall, as interim head coach
Kelsie Murphy earned her first collegiate coaching victory. The Mighty Macs now stand at 1-4 overall.
Ramapo came out in the first period and dominated on offense as they posted six shots while they held the Mighty Macs to none. The Roadrunners got the first goal of the game, the eventual game-winner, as
Morgan Trotter scored an unassisted goal in the 28th minute (27:48) during the second period.
Ramapo led 1-0 at the half while neither team scored in the third period.
Kayla Gray scored her first goal of the season as
Julianna Gentilucci earned the assist for the 2-0 lead. The goal came with just five seconds remaining in the game (59:55). Ramapo out shot Immaculata in the game 16-5 including 12-3 on goal while each team collected four penalty corners.
Michelle Kukan recorded three saves in goal for Ramapo, all in the third period, as she earned her 8th shutout victory of her career. For the Mighty Macs, Julia Levase posted ten saves in goal.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, September 16th when they travel to Vassar College for a non-conference game at 1:30pm.
