Ramapo College Director of Athletics, Jan Koslowsky, has announced the hiring of Interim Head Field Hockey Coach, Kelsie Murphy for the 2023 season.

Coach Murphy is no stranger to the Roadrunner field hockey program after serving as assistant coach for the 2022 season. Coach Murphy was a member of the William Paterson University field hockey team for two seasons (2020 & 2021) where she played on the squad who won the 2020 (Spring 2021) NJAC Championship.

She is a graduate of West Milford High School and attended Appalachian State University before transferring to William Paterson University. She graduated with a bachelor degree in Physical Education (K-12) and earned a Health Education Certificate. Coach Murphy has prior experience coaching West Milford’s Youth travel field hockey team and with elite level camps and clinics. Following her collegiate career, Coach Murphy joined the staff at Falcon Athletics and later became a lead coach for the club team.

Coach Murphy speaks about her new role and outlook on the season:
“I couldn't be more excited to take on this role. Ramapo Field Hockey is a highly respectable program with an amazing group of student-athletes. The team is ambitious, dedicated, and always ready to learn. Getting the opportunity to lead them is a dream come true. I am extremely grateful for the support of the team, the athletic department, Ramapo College, and of course, my family in this transition from Assistant Coach to Interim Head Coach."

"I am looking forward to an incredible season. Although we are young, we are highly talented, incredibly smart, and are coming into the season with great chemistry. There is so much potential for us this season. I am excited to work with this group, building off the success of past years, while also creating something new!”
