Glassboro, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team split a pair of NJAC conference games with #14 ranked Rowan University today on the road. The Profs took game one, 8-0 in five innings; before Ramapo snapped Rowan's 15-game win streak in game two with the 6-2 win. The Profs move to 32-4 overall and 15-1 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 29-8-1 overall and 13-2-1 in the NJAC

Game One
After holding the Roadrunners in the top of the first the Profs later struck for five runs in the bottom of the third inning. The inning was highlighted with a two-out two RBI single from Abigail Pawlowski before two more runs came across with RBI singles from Grace Shukaitis and Payton MacNair. In the fourth, Rowan added two more before they added the eighth run in the bottom of the fifth on a sac fly from Liz McCaffery for the run-rule victory, 8-0.

Rylee Lutz (18-2) spun a one-hit shutout in game one with just three strikeouts while she walked two.

For the Roadrunners,
Marissa DiPaolo (9-2) took the loss as she let up nine hits and five runs.
Mahogany Wheeler worked the final 1.2 innings for Ramapo as she surrendered three runs (two earned) on four hits.

Game Two
Ramapo took a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. With one out
Alexis Corra laced a double to right-center before moving to third on a single from
Avery Bartolomeo.
Avery Kontura then drove a pitch through the left side of the infield to plate Corra for the lead, 1-0. Rowan would tie the game in the second with one run before Ramapo broke open the game in the fifth inning.
Nicole Cerasi led off with a bunt single before
Katie Rygiel laced a ball to deep center field for an RBI double and a 2-1 lead. Rygiel would move to third on an infield ground out before scoring on a bouncing chopper to second base off the bat of Wheeler, 3-1. Bartolomeo then drilled the first pitch she saw over the left field wall, a two-run home run, and her fifth of the year to extend the lead, 5-1. In the top of the sixth, Wheeler knocked in Cerasi with an RBI single. Rowan pushed their final run across the plate in the sixth before Ramapo starting pitcher
Kassy Stefanski and the defense shut the Rowan offense down and earned the NJAC victory, 6-2.

Stefanski (10-2) scattered five hits while she struck out three and walked just two in the complete game victory for the Roadrunners. Ramapo collected ten hits in the game as Kontura led the way finishing 3-4 with one RBI. Corra and Bartolomeo each finished 2-4 with one run scored while Bartolomeo posted two RBI.

Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, April 29th when they travel to TCNJ for the final regular season games of the year. The NJAC doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1pm. year.Â
