Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team won a pair of games at New Jersey City University this afternoon as the Roadrunners moved to 28-7-1 overall and 12-1-1 in the NJAC. The Gothic Knights now stand at 13-19 overall and 2-12 in the conference. Ramapo won game one, 12-1 in five innings and game two 8-0 in six innings with a no-hitter from
Marissa DiPaolo. For the 20th time in program history and fifth time under head coach
Bridgette Quimpo the Roadrunners have won 25+ games in a single season.
Game One
Mahogany Wheeler spun a four hitter as she improved to 9-3 overall. She struck out one, walked one and let up just one run in 3.1 innings of work.
Brooke Knight struck out four in 1.2 innings of work and did not allow a hit. Ramapo scored six runs in the top of the first inning for an early lead.
Avery Bartolomeo worked a bases loaded walk to force home

Kori Gargiulo single while Wheeler later scored on an error before
Anna Messina drove in Bartolomeo with an RBI single, 4-0. Rygiel then laced a double to center field which plated Gargiulo and
Hannah Hensler for the 6-0 score. NJCU scored one run in the bottom of the second before Ramapo added three runs in the fourth inning highlighted by an RBI double by Hensler which plated
Avery Kontura, 9-1. In the fifth, Wheeler drove in Rygiel with an RBI before Bartolomeo launched fourth home run of the season, a two-run shot, as Wheeler scored, 12-1.
Ramapo belted out 12 hits in the game as Rygiel finished 3-4 with two runs scored. Wheeler, Bartolomeo and Kontura each collected two hits.
Game Two
Ramapo scored two runs in the top of the first, three in the third, two in the fifth and one in the sixth. Ramapo starting pitcher
Marissa DiPaolo recorded the 13th no-hitter in program history and 11th solo no-hitter in program history. Corra plated Rygiel with a double to center field for the first run of the game while Corra later scored on an infield error by the Gothic Knights, 2-0.
Avery Kontura drove in Bartolomeo with an RBI triple before Gargiulo knocked in Kontura with an RBI double for a 4-0 lead. Gargiulo later scored on a throwing error, 5-0. In the fifth,

Nicole Cerasi placed Messina with an RBI double, 7-0. In the sixth, Hensler drew a bases loaded walk to force home Wheeler with the eighth run of the game, 8-0. DiPaolo (9-1) struck out seven and walked two in six innings of no-hit softball. Ramapo posted 11 hits in the game as Rygiel, Wheeler and Kontura all recorded two hits each.
