Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team came back to defeat New Jersey City University, 3-2 (21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-16, 15-10) in Skyline/NJAC action tonight at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners move to 12-7 overall, 6-1 Skyline/1-1 NJAC while the Gothic Knights now stand at 12-8 overall, 5-3 Skyline/1-2NJAC.
After seeing themselves down two sets the Roadrunners came back to take sets three and four to force a winner-take-all set five.
Reece Kirchofer put down a career high 20 kills as he hit .333 in the match while he also posted 18 digs and one block.
Andrew Finnegan tallied 18 kills, three blocks and a team high 23 digs while
Sean Nieves contributed with seven kills, two blocks (one solo) and five digs.
JoJo Meyer dished out 43 assists, his 7th match this season with 40+ assists. Meyer also posted one kill, four blocks and two digs.
Conor Charlow added six kills, and a team high seven blocks (three solo) along with four digs.
Chris Moren added 12 digs on defense while
Jack DiGirolamo posted three blocks, three digs and two kills. The team posted 54 total kills in the match.
NJCU had four Gothic Knights record double digit kills in the match as they were led by Bandon DaSilva with 15 kills while he added eight total blocks (two solo) and two digs. Mahmoud Serour and James Bajor each collected 11 kills and three total blocks. Bajor recorded 15 digs while Serour tacked on 12 in the match. Amaru Perales put down ten kills while Daniel Esteva and Leo Ferrari each led NJCU with 24 digs apiece while Ferrari dished out a team high 45 assists. The Gothic Knights recorded 56 kills in the match.
The Roadrunners will return to action on the road at Purchase College on March 23rd for a Skyline match at 7pm.
