RAMAPO MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS IN SKYLINE CONFERENCE TRI-MATCH

Bronxville, NY:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team split a Skyline conference tri-match today on the road at Sarah Lawrence College. The Roadrunners defeated the host Gryphons, 3-0 (25-10, 25-9, 25-11) before St. Joseph's University Long Island battled Ramapo to five sets before taking the match, 3-2 (21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 23-25, 15-11). Ramapo now stands at 11-7 overall and 5-1 in the conference.   
 
Match 1
The Roadrunners were led by Jack DiGirolamo who posted 11 kills while adding two digs, two aces and one assist. Brendan Edwards recorded eight kills and hit .545 in the match with two blocks. Andrew Finnegan posted six kills on nine attempts and just one error (.556) while he added six digs. Matt Rekuc also posted six kills while adding six digs and three assists. JoJo Meyer collected 24 assists in the match along with four kills on seven attempts and just one error to hit.429. Meyer also posted a team high 11 digs while adding one ace. Ramapo recorded a .378 hitting percentage with 43 total kills on 82 attempts and 12 errors.
 
For Sarah Lawrence (0-10 overall, 0-5 Skyline), Felix Massey led the way with nine kills. Lukas Gates posted a team high seven digs while Lance De Leoz dished out a team high six assists.
 
Match 2
Ramapo won game one before the Golden Eagles took games two and three. Ramapo would push the score in game four to win, 25-23, to force a winner-take-all game five where the two teams battled as SJC won 15-11 to remain undefeated in Skyline action.
 
Three Golden Eagles hit in double figures as Mark Williams hit .324 in the match with 15 kills on 37 attempts and three errors. Williams also posted six aces and three assists. Tyler Anderson posted 14 kills, eight digs and three blocks while Luke MacPherson hit .357 with 12 kills on 28 attempts and just two errors. MacPherson added seven digs and three total blocks while CJ Johnson posted ten digs to lead the team and collected a team high 35 assists while also adding six kills. The team hit .270 overall with 55 kills on 141 attempts and 17 errors.
 
Sean Nieves led the Roadrunners with a career high 21 kills as he hit .359 in the match on 39 attempts and just seven errors. Finnegan posted 16 kills, two assists and ten digs while Reece Kirchofer added nine kills and 11 digs. Meyer dished out a career high 49 assists in the match while adding nine digs, three kills and two blocks. Conor Charlow added seven kills and three blocks while DiGirolamo posted five kills and five digs. The team hit .245 in the match with 61 kills on 147 attempts and 25 errors.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, March 21st when they take on New Jersey City University in a NJAC/Skyline matchup at the Bradley Center at 7pm.
