Galloway, NJ: The Stockton University men's soccer team defeated Ramapo College in NJAC action this afternoon at G. Larry James Stadium, 6-0. The Ospreys move to 10-2-5 overall and 4-1-3 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 4-10-2 overall and 1-7 in the conference.
Aiden Hoenisch recorded a hat-trick in the game for the Ospreys and put the team on the board in the 25th minute of the first half. Stockton was awarded a penalty kick with 24:51 on the clock and Hoenisch converted for the 1-0 lead. In the second half, the Ospreys added three straight goals in just under a four minute span. Unche Wokocha (60:00) put in a header off a corner kick from Jake Homowitz while Joseph Carbone (62:59) tallied his first of the year unassisted. JP Candela then took a pass from Homowitz in the 64th minute (63:50) to score his second of the season. Hoeisch would score back-to-back goals to for Stockton (66:29 & 67:11) to extend the lead to 6-0.
Stockton held an 11-3 edge in shots on goal and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks in the game.
Gabriel Espada tallied five saves in the game for the Roadrunners while Brady Barrlettta posted two saves in just over 67 minutes of play for Stockton. Kyle Birmingham made one stop for the Ospreys in 12:52 in the net.
Ramapo returns to action for their final game of the regular season on Wednesday, October 25th when they host William Paterson University at the Athletic Center Turf Field at 7:00pm. The Roadrunners will honor their senior class in a pre-match ceremony.
