Massimo Gallorini helped lead the Ramapo College men's soccer team to an 8-2 NJAC victory over William Paterson University to wrap up the 2023 season. The Roadrunners move to 5-10-2 overall and 2-7 in the NJAC while the Pioneers now stand at 5-12-1 overall and 1-7-1 in the conference.
The Pioneers got on the board early with a goal from Diego Navas in the 2nd minute of the game, his 13th of the year. In the 23rd minute (22:58) of the game Gallorini scored the first of his three goals off an assist from
Mario Ramirez to the game, 1-1. Jaden Blount scored for WPU in the 32nd minute to take a 2-1 lead before
Luigi Portillo (36:54) put one in the back of the net for Ramapo to tie the game once again, 2-2. Ramapo then took a 3-2 lead when
Kyle Allen scored in the 40th minute as
Dino Radoncic and
Jun Choi each earned an assist.
In the second half, the Roadrunners scored five unanswered goals to extend their lead to 8-2. Gallorini opened the second half scoring with a goal (60:13) as Allen assisted while
Michael Morelli hit the back of the net just 45 seconds later as Gallorini earned the assist.
Ederson La Torre scored back-to-back goals (73:25 and 83:18); the first goal was assisted by Portillo and
Jake Szatkowski while the second was assisted by
Dorant Bokshi. Gallorini collected his third goal of the game for the hat trick in the 85th minute as
Jack Hosmer and Bokshi assisted.
Ramapo collected 16 shots on goal in the game and five corner kicks. The Pioneers collected five shots on goal and three corner kicks while Thomas Hatch tallied eight saves in goal.
Zachary Natt posted three saves in the net for Ramapo.
