Saratoga Springs, NY: The Skidmore college men's soccer team posted a 5-1 non-conference win over Ramapo College tonight. The Thoroughbreds improve to 3-1-2 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 0-4-1 overall.
In the first half, Skidmore's Kamal Ibrahim scored his first of two goals in the game for a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute (19:43) of action. Ethan Kilmnick scored on a penalty kick (34:43) for a 2-0 score heading into halftime.
In the second half, Skidmore added three goals to their lead. Perry Sofis-Scheft, Ibrahim and Tobias Catizone each scored to push the Thoroughbreds lead to 5-0. The Roadrunners got on the board in the 87th minute of action when
Jack Hosmer scored from 25-yards out, his second goal of the season.
Each team collected nine shots in the game while Skidmore held a slight 6-5 advantage in shots on goal. Ramapo recorded seven corner kicks while Skidmore posted four.
Nikolai Matthews recorded one save in the game for Ramapo while Bobby Stratts tallied four saves for the Thoroughbreds in the win.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, September 24th when they travel to TCNJ to play their first NJAC conference game of the season at 12pm.
