Danbury, CT: The Western Connecticut State University men's soccer team posted a 4-2 win over Ramapo college today in non-conference action. WestConn remains undefeated at 4-0 overall while the Roadrunners move to 0-3-1 overall.
WestConn got on the board in the 8th minute (7:21) of action with a goal from Nikolas Chevres off a pass from Payton Blynn. Ramapo came back with a goal to tie the game in the 13th minute (12:15) as
Jack Hosmer scored his first goal of the season for a 1-1 score. Jordan Dacosta scored an unassisted goal in the 39th minute (38:56) to put WestConn up 2-1 heading into halftime.
Ramapo would tie the game in the first 35 seconds of the second half when
Osbin Mendez took a pass from
Thiago Stallhbaum (45:35) to tie the game up once again 2-2. The hosts would put two more goals on the board in the second half to take the game 4-2. Erick Lorent and Blynn scored the third and fourth goals for WestConn.
Dilan Solorzano scored three saves in the game for Ramapo while Zachary Benson tallied six saves in the win for WestConn while they held a 15-10 advantage in shots in the game over Ramapo.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, September 21st when they travel to Skidmore College for a non-conference at 4pm.
