Glassboro, NJ: The Rowan University women's basketball team earned a key NJAC win over Ramapo College today, 70-53. The Profs improve to 15-8 overall and 13-4 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 9-11 overall and 8-9 in the conference.
The Profs defense forced 25 Ramapo turnovers which led to 16 points for Rowan in the game. Rowan shot 42% (27-64) from the field, 31% (5-16) from the three-point line and 78% (11-14) from the free throw line. Dakota Adams finished with a double double of 16 points and 10 rebounds while she added three assists, three blocks and two steals. Kristina Johnson tallied 12 points which included two three-pointers while Nicole Mallard and Savanna Kuenzel each posted eight points. Grace Marshall added nine points, three assists and a team high five steals.
The Roadrunners had three players score in double figures as they were led by
Jada Thompson who posted 14 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Shannon Burns who finished 1-1 from the three-point line and 3-3 from the free throw line and tallied 12 total points. She added four rebounds and one block.
Olivia Johnstone tallied ten points and two assists while
Alie Wickersheim posted eight points, six rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Ramapo shot 29% (18-62) from the field, 18% (4-22) from the three-point line and 61% (13-21) from the free throw line.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 16th when they host Rutgers-Camden University at 5:30pm. The Roadrunners will honor their senior class in a pre-game ceremony.
