WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EARNS 73-52 WIN IN SEASON OPENER

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's basketball team opened up the 2022-2023 season with a non-conference victory over Saint Elizabeth University, 73-52.
 
Ramapo opened the game by outscoring the Eagles 21-5 in the first quarter before adding 22 points in the second quarter to Saint Elizabeth's 10 for a 43-15 lead heading into the locker room at halftime. The Eagles posted a slight edge in both the final two quarters of play while the Roadrunners held a 31-point advantage in the third quarter when they led 50-19 with 5:22 on the clock.
 
Jackie Ventricelli led the Roadrunners with a double-double with 18 points, five assists and four steals while she added ten rebounds. Olivia Johnstone finished with 14 points while Bridget Cahill added nine points, including two three-pointers. Salma Eddahiri contributed with seven points and 12 rebounds while Shannon Bruns led the Roadrunners with 13 rebounds. Burns also posted six points and one steal. Ramapo shot 38% (24-63) from the field, 20% (4-20) from the three-point line and 55% (21-38) from the free throw line.
 
Kolby Lynch led the Eagles with 17 points and ten rebounds for a double-double while she added two blocks and three steals. Destiny Battle posted 15 points and finished 7-11 from the free throw line while Herbina Exume added eight points and eight rebounds. Aryanna Baytops posted ten rebounds for the team while she collected four points. The team shot 26% (20-77) from the field and 48% (12-25) from the free throw line.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Friday, November 11th when they host Old Westbury at the Bradley Center in a non-conference game at 7pm.
