Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball improved to 4-0 overall with a 77-51 win over Centenary University today at the Bradley Center. The Cyclones now stand at 2-2 overall.
Three Roadrunners scored in double figures today as they were led by
Jackie Ventricelli who posted a season high 18 points while she added seven rebounds, three assists and a team high six steals.
Jada Thompson also posted a season high 16 points while she grabbed a team high eight rebounds and four assists.
Olivia Johnstone sank a team high four three-pointers in the game on her way to a season high 16 points.
Bridget Cahill added seven points and three assists.
Salma Eddahiri contributed with nine points. The Roadrunners shot 45% (29-64) from the field, 34% (8-23) from the three-point line and 68% (11-16) from the free throw line. The Ramapo defense forced 22 Cyclone turnovers which led to 19 points for the Roadrunners. Ramapo also scored 45 points in the paint and held their largest lead in the third quarter, as Johnstone sank a three-pointer for a 33-point lead, 67-34.
Centenary was led by Brie Opdyke with 12 points while she added five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Kyayla Sampong, D'Ani Sampong and McKayla Mooney each tallied eight points in the game. Carmen Escano and Kaylie Elsbree added seven points each while Escano posted a team high seven rebounds. The Cyclones shot 35% (20-56) from the field, 21% (3-14) from the three-point line and 57% (8-14) from the free throw line.
The Roadrunners return to action at the Bradley Center on Tuesday, November 22nd as they open up NJAC conference play against Rutgers-Newark University at 5:30pm.
