Box Score Camden, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's soccer team opened the 2021 season on the road at Rutgers-Camden University where the two teams played to a 1-1 double overtime draw.
 
At the end of the first half, Thiago Stallhbaum was able to capitalize on a free kick in the 40th minute of action (39:23) from 30-yards out to put the Roadrunners on the board, 1-0. Ramapo held a 7-6 edge in shots in the half while goalkeeper Joshua Schaffer recorded four saves in the half and faced six shots total.
 
In the second half, the Scarlet Raptors tied the game with a penalty kick in the 53rd minute of play (52:56) to knot the score, 1-1. Both teams had opportunities to break the tie in regulation and the Roadrunners had their best attempt with just under two minutes left when Stallhbaum ripped a shot hitting the crossbar.  The Scarlet Raptors held a 6-5 edge in shots in the second half while both goalkeepers recorded two saves.
 
In the first overtime period Ramapo held a 4-0 advantage in shots while Rutgers-Camden posted a 3-1 shot advantage in the second overtime period. For the game, Schaffer recorded seven saves and faced 14 shots while Connor Smith collected eight saves and faced 16 shots in the net for the Scarlet Raptors.
