Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team have been picked to finish seventh in the
2018 NJAC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, announced today by the league office. The poll is voted on by the ten league coaches.

The Roadrunners are led by 11th year head coach
Mike Eineker. Ramapo will look to improve on last year's record when they posted seven wins. They earned key NJAC conference victories against Rutgers-Newark University and New Jersey City University, both on the road and at home. The 2018-2019 squad returns two key starters from lasts season in senior
Tia Solomon and junior
Jenna Harsh. Juniors
Jessica Repasy,
Alie Wickersheim and
Samantha Rinaldi also return to help guide the Roadrunners this season.

Harsh was named to the NJAC Honorable Mention All-Conference team last season and returns as the Roadrunner's leading scorer with 274 points last year. She recorded six double-doubles and posted a career high 31 points in a road game at Kean University. Solomon tallied 157 points and a team high 160 rebounds while she collected a team high 30 blocked shots. Repasy recorded 87 rebounds, 25 assists, seven blocked shots and 143 points last season while Wickersheim grabbed 110 rebounds and added 134 points. Rinaldi returns to the team after starting the first ten games of last season. She collected 73 points, 29 rebounds, 22 assists and five steals.

Three newcomers to the squad this year are junior transfer
Cherie Smedile and rookies
Cara Faulkner and
Kaity Potter. Smedile joins the Roadrunners after two successful seasons with Bergen Community College where she earned First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region 19. Smedile set the new Bulldog career points record with 1,222 points in just two seasons. Faulkner and Potter join the Roadrunners as true freshman after successful playing careers at Teaneck and Freehold Twp. High School respectively. Â

The Roadrunners open the 2018-2019 season tonight against Lehman College at 5:30pm at the Bradley Center. Ramapo plays their first away contest on Tuesday, November 13th at Centenary University before they host the Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament on Friday, November 16th and Saturday, November 17th. Southern Vermont and St. Joseph's Brooklyn will open the tournament at 5:30pm on Friday before the Roadrunners host Medgar Evers in a non-conference game at 7:30pm.
