Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team won the NJAC regular season title and earned the #1 seed in the upcoming
NJAC Tournament. The Roadrunners will host #6 Montclair State University at the Athletic Center at 4pm tomorrow afternoon.
The Roadrunners, who are on a ten game win streak, defeated MSU in a pair of one-run games at home on April 27th. This is the 18th appearance in the NJAC tournament in program history and third appearance under head coach
Bridgette Quimpo. Ramapo won the 2015 NJAC Tournament Title, the first in program history.
The opening round of the tournament will be played at the higher seed while the remaining games move to Kean University's Cougar Softball Field on Friday May 5th through Sunday May 7th. Tickets for tomorrow's game are $5 for Adults and $2 for students, NJAC passes and season passes will not be accepted.
Senior
Nicole Mahoney leads the Roadrunners with a .430 batting average including a second best 43 hits. She also leads the team with six home runs and 35 RBI. Junior
Ally Spellman is second on the team with a .429 average that includes 42 hits. Rookie
Jackie Howarth leads the team with 44 hits while she has a .373 average. She also leads the team with 15 stolen bases and is second with 11 doubles. Senior
Grace Brennan is second on the team with five home runs while she has a .352 average. She's collected 31 hits including seven doubles and two triples. Sophomore
Harper Patsko has recorded a .330 average with 36 hits including a team best 13 doubles, two triples and four home runs. Rookie
Kendra Decker is the final Roadrunner hitting over .300 with a .305 average that includes 18 hits and three doubles.
Sophomore
Erin Fitzsimmons (11-3) leads the Ramapo pitching staff on the mound with 46 strikeouts over 73.1 innings pitched. Fitzsimmons has pitched eight complete games including five shutouts and has an ERA of 1.81. Junior
Katrina Buczkowski (8-1) has recorded 41 strikeouts over 78.1 innings pitched and has an ERA of 1.79. She has seven complete games on the mound and four shutouts. Junior
Christina Brizek (6-2) has recorded 30 strikeouts over 58.2 innings pitched. She has three complete games including three shutouts and a 2.03 ERA. Junior
Paige Merle (2-1) leads the team with three saves and a 1.24 ERA. She has struck out ten over 11.1 innings pitched.
